MSNBC - Obama is the nominee. It seems everyone is agreeing. Obama is the nominee. Thank God they broke away from McCain's oratorical waterboarding of all cable tv viewers.

CNN - Same thing. Obama is the nominee. Roland Martin is talking about how we have finally lived up to The I Have A Dream Speech

Cesca once again gets McCain's forced, fake, forensic performance exactly correct: "That's not change we can believe in." (big fake grin) And now he's going off on a long negative rant about Senator Obama. Seriously -- he sounds creepy and sinister. Like a second-rate surrogate delivering an introductory speech for a candidate running for sheriff in Toothlessburg.

9:12 - Fox is talking about McCain again. We're in the strategy room, with Chris Wallace and Karl Rove's anti-social disorder. I think I just saw Rove shoot his forked-tongue across the glass table and slurp up a bed bug.

9:17 Brit Hume likes Chris Wallace's tie. Hume almost smiled. Almost.

9:18 - David Axelrod on CNN: McCain will give us four more years of Bush.

Jeffrey Toobin: "What about that McCain speech. It was awful....A couple hundred people...I think that was one of the worst speeches I've ever seen."

9:21 - Bob Cesca just reminded me that Hillary Clinton is up 55-45 right now in South Dakota. If it ends up that way, Tom Daschle--a big Obama guy--ain't going to be too pleased.

9:25 - CNN declares that Hillary Clinton has won South Dakota. She is up 57-43. I must admit to being a bit surprised.

Even Alex Castellanos just said "Thank God" this isn't a speechmaking contest.

Carville: "I gotta hand it to the Republicans, McCain was the youngest person in that room."

9:32 - Hillary Clinton about to speak. What will she say, and will she help Obama by reminding us that Senator McCain dates back to the Pleistocene Era.

Hillary Clinton congratulates Obama.

Women supported her who were in their 90s, born before women could vote...and just as McCain was reaching puberty.

There are more people behind Hillary Clinton than were in McCain's entire crowd.

Hillary Clinton points out that they continued on when all the naysayers counted her out. Now, I don't mean to be a jerk here, but doesn't this result prove the naysayers were right? She might have saved a lot of money and time if she had listened. Just a thought.

Committed to uniting our party. Good.

9:43 - Somewhere at this very moment, Mitt Romney's hair is combing itself.

9:49 - Hillary Clinton is "making no decisions tonight." The crowd erupts. Yes, drag this out longer. Smart. Elect McCain. Ensure that Roe v. Wade is overturned, the Iraq War continues, tax cuts continue to reign down on CEOs and torture becomes state policy. Those are some smart Democrats cheering for that line...

9:53 - Wolf Blitzer: "No signs of conceding." She said she will do what's best for her party. No. She would do what other people do who lose races and concede if that were the case.

Montana polls close in 5 minutes.

9:58 - Somewhere at this moment, Mike Huckabee's deep-frying a squirrel

10:00 MSNBC calls Montana for Obama

Tom Brokaw thinks Hillary Clinton's speech was about "leverage." He is also disagreeing with Howard Fineman. He says a source close to the Clintons has said that she wants the vice-presidency, that it will lead to "16 years of Democratic presidents."

10:08 - A historic moment, the presumptive nominee, Barack Obama, takes the stage in St. Paul with his wife Michelle.

Classic Cesca: "Holy crap! Gloria Borger is a doofus!"

Back to Obama: He is thanking everyone

The primary season has finally come to an end

"Because of you, I can say I will be the Democratic nominee for the United States of America" - Huge eruption. Like McCain's speech. If the average attendee there were 1/3 their age, had all their teeth still in and were on Rush Limbaugh's meds.

Nice shot by Obama: "I will respect John McCain's accomplishments, even if he chooses to deny mine."

It's not change when he stands with Bush 95% of the time, Bushenomics, etc.
