The race for New Jersey's 5th congressional district just got funnier. The interns at Shulman for Congress have written, produced, and starred in "Oilmen For Garrett," a new 5-minute video lambasting Dennis Shulman's Republican opponent, Rep. Scott Garrett, for his dependence on big oil dollars and his petro-friendly voting record.

The video gets top billing on the campaign's Oilmen for Garrett website, where visitors can also sign a petition telling Garrett to stop taking money from big oil.

The video, produced for the price of a tank of gas, is a parody of NBC's hit sitcom, "The Office." The interns don ten gallon hats to play oil company executives who take up a boardroom collection to buy all of Garrett's votes forever. They figure $66,000 should do the trick. That's roughly the amount Garrett has taken from big oil during his congressional career. So far, the New Jersey Republican has dutifully served the interests of his constituents donors, voting for offshore drilling, for oil company tax breaks, against subsidies for renewable energy, for the Bush-Cheney energy plans, and more.

Garrett makes a cameo appearance in the video, thanks to some guerrilla media tactics by Shulman's young videographers. The interns even manage to get a few digs about Garrett's vote to decriminalize dogfighting.
