Emily's List, to the chagrin of many Democrats, is sticking with Hillary Clinton. That is most surely their right. But, today, once NARAL endorsed Barack Obama and sent out a press release about it, the reaction of Emily's List is a bit puzzling:Here is what NARAL had to say:We have been so fortunate to have two fully pro-choice candidates running for the Democratic nomination, and we praised both Sen.
You may know that Rod Parsley, apocalyptic preacher in the Columbus, Ohio area, is a big McCain supporter. Well, so is Ollie North, known subverter of the U.S. Constitution and "good Christian." Here is a column that North wrote on McCain a little while back:Sen. McCain has pledged to win this war.
I am guessing that this is part of the whole "I am greener than the giant on the frozen vegetable packages" McCain campaign pitch. From a campaign email:Team McCain, This week our campaign is promoting John McCain's long-term commitment to providing market-based solutions to climate change and highlighting ways we can all protect our environment.
To woo more Super Ds. A little birdie who knows bigger birdies just told me. Shhh, it's just between us.
We have heard a lot about them this campaign, a kind of walk through the Reagan Democratic memory lane. But will Hillary Clinton really do better among this group of voters than Barack Obama?According to Quinnipiac, not so much nationally. In key swing states, however, they seem to favor Clinton (particularly int those touched by Appalachia). What does this tell you?
One is a Super D, the other not technically, because she hails from Michigan (and by now we all now what is going on with Michigan--which is to say that nobody actually knows what is going to happen). It will be interesting to see what if any impact Hillary Clinton's huge win in West Virginia yesterday has on the Super D endorsements for the next couple of days.
Hillary Clinton coasted to victory in West Virginia, in what many have pointed out is her strongest region (Appalachia), winning approximately two-thirds of the vote. But the bigger news came out of a few other states. In Mississippi, the Democrat Travis Childers won a special election for an open House seat.
If you know this guy's history, you're not surprised. This is a man who handed out tobacco checks on the House floor. So chock-full-o' integrity is he.Now he has moved on from bribery to lying about Obama's statements on Israel:In an interview with The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., talked a great deal about Israel.
